Think quarterly's a better fit?

If your business is small, seasonal, or just doesn’t generate much month-to-month activity — a side business, a small rental or two, a family farm — monthly service might be more than you need. Ask about a quarterly package instead: the same careful bookkeeping, delivered four times a year rather than twelve.

$450–$650 per quarter

Behind on the books? Catch-up & cleanup is quoted separately, so your monthly rate stays clean and predictable.

Curious how it compares? A gentle look at the numbers, if you’d like to see them.

Vs. a full-time hire

A full-time in-house bookkeeper often runs $45,000–$60,000 a year before payroll taxes and benefits. You get the same care and expertise, at a fraction of that, and you only pay for what your business actually needs.

Vs. doing it yourself

You started your business for more than late nights with a spreadsheet. Handing the books to me usually means getting your evenings and weekends back — time with your family, instead of squeezing in bookkeeping and payroll after hours.

Vs. outsourcing to a big company

With a lot of large bookkeeping companies, you’re just an account number — routed through a portal and a rotating cast of staff who don’t know your business. With me, it’s always one direct line to the person who actually does the work.

About
Margaret Mosley, owner of Margaret Mosley Bookkeeping and Financial Services
Hi, I’m Maggie!

The daughter of a handyman, running your books.

I started this business after watching a specific kind of business go underserved in my hometown of Central Illinois: tradespeople, contractors, home-service businesses, and real estate investors who need real financial support but don’t want to feel like a number at a big firm. You’re likely excellent at your trade and never quite got around to loving your books — not because you can’t, but because bookkeeping was never the job you signed up for.

If I’m honest, this business is really about admiration. I’m constantly impressed by the grit of small business owners who keep our communities safe and thriving — the ones out the door before sunrise, the crews who learned their trade from a parent and are teaching it to their own kids now, the investors who bet on their own towns. I wanted to build something with my hands, too — a business that helps yours thrive.

Whether it’s a clean bank reconciliation, paying your crew properly and on time, or job costing your next big project, you shouldn’t be losing sleep over the numbers. I want to be the person who takes that weight off your shoulders — reliably, personally, and without judgment — so you can keep doing what you do best.

Good to Know

A few common questions.

No pressure to read all this — but if you like to know who you’re working with before picking up the phone, here’s a start.

Do you only work with contractors and real estate investors?

That’s where I focus, but not where I stop. I work with all kinds of small businesses — if you think your business might be a fit, just give me a call and we’ll talk it through.

I’m behind on my books — can you help with that?

Yes. Catch-Up & Cleanup is built exactly for this. We’ll get you current and organized, then keep it that way going forward.

Do you handle taxes?

Not yet — tax preparation is coming once I complete my Enrolled Agent certification this spring. For now, it’s bookkeeping and payroll, done right.

Do I have to learn new software?

No. That’s the whole point. I work in the background, so you don’t need to touch QuickBooks yourself unless you want to.

What if I don’t use QuickBooks right now?

That’s fine — I can get you set up, or work with whatever you’ve got going already.

How quickly can we get started?

Usually within a week of our first call.

Do you only work with clients in the Midwest?

I’m based in Central Illinois, but I work with clients remotely, wherever you’re located.

What’s the real difference between the three packages?

Groundwork fits solo operators just getting started. Foundation covers the essentials for owner-operators. Build adds payroll and invoicing as your crew grows. Scale adds job costing and strategy calls for established companies. Not sure which fits? Just call, and we’ll sort it out together.

Why should you hire me?

Because I want the same thing you do — for your business to grow, and for you to keep more of what you earn. I’m building my own business right alongside yours, and I’d love to be your partner in that: two small businesses chasing the same American dream, and making our community a little stronger along the way.

Let’s get the books off your plate.
